Santorini in Bali! A must visit place while you're in Bali
Thursday, July 22, 2021Have you missed going abroad or have a holiday outside your country? I do, a lot! It's been a privilege right now until God knows when. What I love the most about traveling is tasting their authentic food, I'm always keen to try something new and local. It gives joy and an unforgettable experience. What about you?
If you've been to Bali, you must've known about Canggu. This hype area in Bali is filled with hidden gems, nice cafes, and beach clubs. There's this restaurant that you can't miss since it's so pretty and will give you a memorable experience. You can feel like you're in Santorini here! And yes the restaurant's name is Santorini. They have 2 restaurants, in Kuta and Canggu but this one in Canggu is more instagrammable.
Once you enter this place, you can feel the Santorini vibe everywhere you see. The murals on the wall are so beautiful and detail, I can stare at them for hours. Not to forget the stairs with a balcony area for photo spot, that's just too cute!
Besides the place, the food is awesome too. I like Greek food even though I've never been to Greece myself but I like how it tastes clean and fresh without feeling too heavy. I'll share some food that I tried there.
This is a free appetizer from the house. It's bruschetta with tomato, cucumber, feta cheese topped with olive. It tastes light and fresh with all the veggies.
Spinach Pie
Kids Meal: Spaghetti Bolognese
Mix Grill Plate
Love this plate! If you're confused about what you want to order, this can be your plate. Everything is in one plate. There are gyros, kebab, pita bread, potatoes, and salad. I really enjoyed the salad, it's fresh and yummy! My girl loves it too. Pita bread and the tzatziki sauce are my faves! For the meat, I love the gyros better than others.
Souvlaki Giga Pork
If you want something simpler, this souvlaki is a win! The pork skewer is mixed with peppers, tomato, and onion served with fries, greek salad, and tzatziki sauce. It's fun to eat one by one from the bottom just like a gigantic satay. The pork is quite tender, nice combo with bell peppers and the sides.
Soutzoukakia
Honestly, the name's really hard to spell. It looks like meatballs though but it's not round and a bit different. This is a beef minced roll, cooked in Napoli sauce and served with mashed potato or fries. They can make it spicy if you like it. It tasted like a beef patty and the texture is tender, nice combo with the sauce, it's tasty. Something simple and filling for the tummy.
Baklava
Ended my meal with the Greek dessert, Baklava. I've never tried Baklava before but it's kinda like nutty and crunchy pie but I wish it's more tender for the pastry skin. This is a bit thick and hard for me. I like the taste though and combined with the vanilla ice cream ~ yummy!
