Review: The Body Shop Dragonfruit Lip Butter
Saturday, February 22, 2014
I got this as a member birthday gift from The Body Shop. They have a member program so you can claim a birthday gift every year. It is different every year so you won't know what you'll get. Usually I get mini shower gel, but this time I get lip butter. This is my first experience with lip butter. It is 10ml and the price now is IDR 89.000. I'll give you a short review.
The packaging is made from plastic with colorful color, better than the lip balm with transparent plastic jar. Lip butter's packaging is more attractive. The color is fuschia with green cap just like the dragon fruit skin.
As lip butter, the color is white, it's like white dragon fruit, actually the fruit comes in 2 colors, red and white but I think they use the white one as the concept, although for eating, the red one is yummier. It really looks like butter but in white color.
The color is white, just like in the pot and the texture is really creamy just like body butter but this one is made for lips. The smell is so delicious and sweet like dragon fruit but sweeter, the real dragon fruit isn't as sweet as this one. It is nice to treat the lips and gives smooth and moist feeling. But..... I don't think it's suitable for everyday lipbalm or using it before lipstick because it gives white cast on the lips. It's not that transparent as lipbalm does, this one has white finish so it will make me look pale by using it alone. And it's too buttery and runny to put on before lipstick.
Pros:
- Nice scent
- Really moisturizing
- A little goes a long way
- Sweet fruity scent
Cons:
- Gives white cast / finish, esp when using it alone
- Too thick to use before lipstick, maybe just a tiny tiny bit
- A bit expensive
Overall:
I prefer lipbalm than lipbutter, esp tinted lipbalm because it's more useful during the day. I can use lipbalm only and it's nice to be used before or after lipstick. I'm not really a fan of this kind of texture but this one is really useful for super dry lips who needs extra care.
NB: Having a nice lips isn't easy, scrubbing and lip balm is a must! It needs continuity. Make it your routine and you'll have a sweet lips ready to use everything.

Woah! This is the first time I've ever seen a dragon fruit flavored product. I wonder what it smells like :o I've only had dragon fruit once so I can't remember the scent XD This would probably come in handy when you need to moisturize your lips in the winter ^^

I think it's tropical fruits, right? You have to try the bloody red one. It's sweeter. It has so many vitamins. Yes, butter is probably better with that condition. I have summer all year around. ^_^
