The Balm Beauty Workshop and Opening - Complexion Rescue with Even Steven Whipped Foundation
Hiii! I'm so excited to share this with you, guys. You know that I've been a fan of The Balm since a long time ago. It's my first eyeshadow palette, Nude Tude (my sister gave me as Birthday present tho, woof you) and I bought another one, The Balm Jovi since I was hooked with The Balm.
I love their unique and out of the box concept with the product's name, SUPER CUTE design, and of course the quality. They don't have too many products but they're ever lasting, from years many of their best selling products are still best selling until now, talk about Mary Lou, Bahama Mama, Nude Tude, etc.
After all the ramblings, guess what?! They're now open in Bali!!! Big applause! Finally.. *happy tears*. So last Saturday I was invited to join their Beauty Workshop "Complexion Rescue" with Even Steven Whipped Foundation, their newest SUPER AWESOME foundation (I'm gonna tell you why, keep reading).
They open up a booth next to Absolute New York at Sogo, Discovery Shopping Mall (they're both new and I'll tell you about the other brand on next post). The beauty workshop was held at Sogo area too with Alodia as the Makeup Artist. Here's the model's look before makeup with Ade as MC. We learned so much at the workshop, I'll share some tips and products used here.
Base
The perfect canvas is very important for the makeup to stay on, that's why we need to have a clean and moist skin before using any makeup. First, clean the face using The Balm Balms Away, it's an eye makeup remover but it's big and can be use for the whole face, it's even moisturizing for the skin.
Then use The Balm Time Balm Face Primer as base, this is a very good primer too, makes my skin super duper soft and even.
Complexion
After having a perfect canvas, now it's time for the star foundation, The Balm Even Steven Whipped Foundation, Ade said that this was inspired by Disney movie back then, how cute! This is a whipped foundation with great coverage and buildable, so concealer isn't really needed if you don't have serious problems. Even though it has whipped texture, which is usually meant for oily skin, but this is also GREAT FOR NORMAL DRY SKIN like me. It glides smoothly on my skin and easily blends with fingers, and the result is AH-MA-ZING. It makes my skin looks healthy, not dead matte even though it has matte finish, even out my complexion and long lasting. My complexion is rescued! Another good thing is a little goes a long way, even though the jar looks so small but it will last for a long time. I really want it now T_T. My blogger friends also rambling about this baby. Add some more coverage if needed by using The Balm Time Balm Concealer and set with The Balm Photobalm Powder Foundation.
Even Steven has 6 colors that enter Indonesia from Light to Dark, my skin matches the Light/Medium one. What I learned that the applicator can make a huge different in the finish look. When using brush, it has more coverage and the complexion is more matte, but be careful with the brush strokes because the foundation set in a short time. My favorite finish look is when using beauty blender, it gives moist and glowing finish, looks more natural. It's up to your preference tho.
MakeUp
For the eye makeup, she uses the new palette from The Balm Nude Beach which has really great colors for summer makeup with a lot of warm colors inside. I use some orange to brown, warm tone from the palette.
The eyeshadow crayon, The Balm Batter Up can be used to highlight or as under eye highlighter, it's really has a nice texture, very creamy and blendable but once it's set, it will be long lasting. Eyeliner and Eyebrow can use a same product, The Balm Mr. Write (Now), it's very multifunction as one product.

For the cheek, she uses The Balm FratBoy Blush which has super duper pretty color and gives a fresh look in an instant. As for shading uses The Balm Bahama Mama which has cool tone in it, perfect for every skintone, and added with shimmering touch from The Balm Betty Lou Manizer. So pretty...
Last but not least, the lippies!! Using everyone's favorite The Balm Meet Matte Hughes. I swatch some of them but they have so many shades, 16 in total..! My favorite is commited, a perfect pinkish nude color. The model used Sincere, nude pink one.
The look is finished! I love all products that I tried from The Balm, they have a very great quality, it's pigmented, the color's payoff is nice and the packaging is cute with the unique design colorful cardboard. Visit their counter as you can try the makeup with this amazing vanity mirror on spot.
Cute display at The Balm's counter. I feel like I wanna try them all.
With the one and only Steven in my life. Oh, I want you Steven!!!
